Get Rid of Ants - Recommendations and Tips
Please note *We use these products so we know that they work.
To go toe to toe with an Ant infestation, you need to use a couple of products at the same time to achieve success. Trust the process, patience is needed.
- Vanquish (Caulk gun required)
- X-it Ant spray (A small 1lt sprayer is sufficient)
- Either Ant bait - the *No Pest type has a special feed matrix that attracts maximum bait uptake
- Or Ant Sand
Scroll down for instructions.
It is important to shake the Vanquish before use. Set it up in a caulk gun. Gently squeeze small 2cm portions of Vanquish and place them 2m apart, along the edge of your home, along garden edges, areas you see ant activity, including the base of trees, edge of paths etc. Do not forget the lawn.
We recommend the use of disposable gloves and a respirator when using the X-it Ant spray.
Use the correct mix rate for the X-it Ant spray (note - more does not help). Make up a small mix of spray, set the spray on the finest setting possible and very lightly spray along those areas where you baited. It is ok to spray the bait lightly.
Trust the process, trust the mix rate, observe the time frames.
Three months later
Unless the infestation is still quite prevalent, you should not need to use more Vanquish.
Using the correct mix rate for the X-it Ant spray, spray those areas again and any other where you have noted activity. Shake the Ant sand lightly over the lawns & gardens near your home. (Do not use too much, Less is more).
Then follow up with 2 cm strips of Ant bait. If you are using Exterm-an-ant, squirt a little into bottle caps etc and place them around your home. Do this 3 times, every 3mths.
